COLUMBUS, Ohio — With just four games remaining in the 2017-18 regular season, Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team returns to Alumni Hall to host Hillsdale and Lake Erie this week in Great Midwest Athletic Conference clashes.

The Panthers (13-10, 8-8 G-MAC) will face Hillsdale on Tuesday, February 13 at 5:30 p.m. and Lake Erie on Thursday, February 15 at 5:30 p.m.

ODU has won five of its last six games and most recently earned a hard-fought, 63-58 victory at Cedarville. Despite shooting just 33.3 percent for the game, the Panthers used a 35-point bench contribution and shot 13-of-14 from the free throw line en route to victory. It marked the lowest field goal percentage in a win during the Panthers' NCAA Division II era.

At sixth place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings, Ohio Dominican is looking to solidify a spot in the eight-team conference tournament, which would mark its first trip to the postseason in the program's Division II era and its first postseason appearance since 2010. The Panthers currently rank in the top three of the G-MAC in field goal percentage (47.3 percent), three-point field goal percentage (37.4 percent), three-point field goal percentage defense (31.4 percent), defensive rebounds (28.3) and assists per game (16.2).

Leading the Panthers in scoring and rebounding is sophomore Hasan Varence (Queens, New York), who averages 14.0 points per game while ranking third in the Great Midwest in rebounds per game with 9.6 boards per contest. Varence boasts eight double-doubles this season and has recorded 10 or more rebounds in his last four games. Sophomore Sam Hickey (Toledo, Ohio) is scoring 12.4 points per game off the bench and shoots 37.9 percent from three-point range. With 132 three-pointers in less than two seasons at ODU, Hickey needs just two more three-pointers to move into 10th all-time in three-pointers made in a career at Ohio Dominican.

Senior Ronnie Williams (Columbus, Ohio) is averaging 11.2 points per game and with 231 triples for his career, needs just six more to move into third place all-time in school history for three-pointers made. Senior point guard Shemar Waugh (Columbus, Ohio) averages 11.5 points per game and with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.34, ranks third in the conference and 54th in the nation in the category.

Next week, ODU will host Alderson Broaddus on Thursday, February 22 and Davis & Elkins on Saturday, February 24. Listen to the Panthers' remaining four regular season contests at PressBoxProductions.net.
