COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Dominican's men's basketball fell to Hillsdale by a final score of 60-51 at Alumni Hall on Saturday afternoon in a GLIAC South contest.
The Chargers (15-11, 11-9 GLIAC) held the Panthers (13-12, 8-11 GLIAC) to 36.5 percent shooting from the field and 30 percent shooting from three-point range.
Junior Ronnie Williams (Columbus, Ohio) led the way for ODU, scoring 11 points and also finishing with five rebounds. Freshman Hasan Varence (Queens, New York) recorded his sixth double-double of the season, scoring 10 points and recording 13 rebounds. Freshman Sam Hickey (Toledo, Ohio) scored nine points off the bench, and sophomore R.J. Jones (Twinsburg, Ohio) recorded six points off the bench for the Panthers.
Hillsdale led 12-7 at the 8:29 mark of the first half, but a three-pointer by junior Adam Cytlak (Van Buren, Ohio) sparked what became a 13-6 run for ODU, which took a 20-18 lead on a layup by Varence with 2:52 to go until halftime.
But the Chargers closed the first half on an 11-2 run and outscored ODU 31-29 in the second half, earning the win, 60-51.
Ohio Dominican will look for a win in its final regular season contest at Lake Erie on Thursday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m.
