COLUMBUS, Ohio — Following an exhibition contest with Toledo this past Saturday, Ohio Dominican's men's basketball team prepares to face Johnson C. Smith on Saturday, November 12 at 4 p.m. in its first regular season contest of the 2016-17 season.

The Panthers (0-0, 0-0 GLIAC) are coming off an exhibition game at Toledo in which they fell by a final score of 94-79 in a contest that featured 10 ties and 15 lead changes. Ohio Dominican was within four at halftime, trailing 45-41 heading into the locker room, but the Rockets held a 49-38 scoring advantage in the second half to surge ahead and earn a 94-79 victory.
Junior Shemar Waugh (Columbus, Ohio) led the Panthers with 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field, also dishing out a team-high four assists in 35 minutes of play. Junior Ronnie Williams (Columbus, Ohio) scored 17 points, and freshman Sam Hickey (Toledo, Ohio) added 11 points on three-of-six shooting from three-point range in his Panther debut.
Following its contest with Johnson C. Smith on Saturday, Ohio Dominican will host Seton Hill on Tuesday, November 15 and St. Joseph's (Ind.) on Saturday, November 19.
The Panthers have six regular season games in the month of November and went 3-3 in the first month of the season a year ago. Under Head Coach Dan Evans, the Panthers are 6-9 in November.
Ohio Dominican is looking to earn its third season opening win in the last four years, defeating Maryville (Mo.) 84-69 to begin the 2015-16 season.
