2019 SCHEDULE

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican football program has released the dates and opponents for its 2019 schedule. The Panthers are slated to host three opponents this fall, while traveling six times.

Ohio Dominican, who finished 2018 with a 9-2 record for its eighth consecutive winning season, will be tested early with a pair of road non-conference games at Shepherd (W. Va.) and Valdosta State (Ga.). The Panthers begin the 2019 campaign at Shepherd with a 1 p.m. kickoff, Saturday, Sept. 7. The Rams have made the NCAA Division II National Playoffs in three of the past four seasons and are coming off a 7-3 year in 2018.

Valdosta State won the national championship last fall for its fourth title since 2004, defeating Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe, Ferris State (Mich.), 49-47 in the national title game. The Blazer will enter the 2019 campaign riding a nation's best 15-game winning streak. Valdosta State plays host to ODU at 6 p.m., Sept. 14.

The rest of the Panthers' slate is filled with Great Midwest Athletic Conference opponents. ODU will be entering its third season in the G-MAC, combining for a 13-2 mark. Highlighting the first two years in the G-MAC is a 7-0 conference championship in 2017.

The Black & Gold's home and conference opener will come against Findlay (Ohio) on Saturday, Sept. 21. The tilt with the Oilers will also be the Panthers' Homecoming and Athletic Hall of Fame weekend. All three of ODU's home games are slated for a noon kickoff.

Rounding out a four-game stretch in September is a trek to Tiffin (Ohio) at 4 p.m., Sept. 28. Ohio Dominican, Findlay and Tiffin all tied for second in the final 2018 G-MAC standings at 6-2.

October will feature three games for the Panthers, beginning with a road contest at Alderson Broaddus (W. Va.) at 1 p.m., Oct. 5. After a bye week, ODU will stay on the road to face Kentucky Wesleyan at 1 p.m. CDT, Oct. 19. The first of two straight home games comes against Walsh (Ohio) on Oct. 26.

Ohio Dominican will be off during the first week of November and then welcome Lake Erie (Ohio) for the final home regular season game of 2019 on Nov. 9. The regular season finale will be a trip to the defending G-MAC champion in Hillsdale (Mich.). The Panthers and Chargers are slated for a 1 p.m. start on Nov. 16.

The NCAA Division II National Playoffs begin Nov. 23 and conclude with the national championship game on Dec. 21.
