INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time this fall, senior linebacker Ross Thompson (Delphos, Ohio) was named the G-MAC Defensive Player of the Week, this time coming after a huge effort in Saturday night's 34-21 win against Findlay.

Thompson made 14 tackles for the Ohio Dominican defense, which held the Oilers to 27 points below their season scoring average. He also had a sack and broke up two passes in the win, which moved the Panthers to 3-1 on the season.

He now has made at least 10 tackles in three of ODU's first four games and ranks second in the league with his 45 tackles. Thompson is also tied for second with his 5.5 tackles for loss and is tied for third in the conference with six passes defended. His 45 tackles are also 14th in the country.

Thompson is continuing to climb up ODU's all-time tackles list as he now ranks eighth in school history with 230 stops. His 24.0 tackles for loss are tied for seventh as well.

He also earned G-MAC Player of the Week honors after ODU's season-opening 28-23 win against Cal, a game in which he made 15 tackles.

Ohio Dominican returns home to host Alderson Broaddus at noon on Saturday in Panther Stadium. It will be ODU's Homecoming game.
