INDIANAPOLIS – Sophomore running back EJ Colson (Middletown, Ohio) was named the G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for a career-high 153 yards and four touchdowns in Ohio Dominican's 53-13 win at Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon.
Colson's four scores on the ground are the most by any G-MAC player this fall. He scored on runs of one, two, 35 and three yards in the afternoon and averaged 9.0 yards per carry. He's just the fifth player in ODU history to score four or more rushing touchdowns in a single game, and his yards per carry average is tied for the eighth best mark in ODU single game history.
Earlier this fall, Colson ran for 150 yards against Malone, including an 85 yard run, which is tied for the second-longest run in ODU history. He is one of just two players in the conference to have multiple games of 150-plus yards on the ground this fall.
Colson has rushed for 458 yards (6.9 per carry) on the season and is averaging 6.9 yards per carry. He has six rushing touchdowns and has also caught 11 passes out of the back field.
Ohio Dominican (4-3, 4-0 G-MAC) will take on Walsh at 8 p.m. Saturday at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
