INDIANAPOLIS – Freshman Logen Neidhardt (Hicksville, Ohio) was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday, the first ODU punter to earn a conference player of the week award in the program's Division II era.
Neidhardt averaged 41.7 yards per punt in the 51-0 win over Lake Erie on Saturday night. His first punt carried 45 yards and was downed at the one yard line, which led to a safety by the defense on the next play. It was his second straight week of having a punt downed at the one.
On the season, Neidhardt is averaging 41.6 yards per punt, with six inside the 20 and a long of 54 yards. He ranks 20th in the country in yards per punt and leads the G-MAC in punts inside the 20 and three punts of 50 yards or longer.
