COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's football team unveiled its 2017 schedule, which features a game at Ivy League member Penn in week three.
The 10-game schedule includes seven Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) contests as Ohio Dominican enters its first year in the conference.
The Panthers will kick off the season at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31 at California (Pa.), who finished 11-1 last season and reached the third round of the NCAA Playoffs.
Week two will see ODU travel to Ashland for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 9. The Eagles finished with a 9-2 mark in 2016.
ODU will then travel to Penn on Saturday, Sept. 16 for the first contest in program history against a Division I opponent. Penn has won consecutive Ivy League titles and went 7-3 last season.
The Panthers will have a bye on Saturday, Sept. 23 before the start of G-MAC play. The Panthers will travel to Malone on Saturday, Sept. 30 before playing host to Hillsdale for Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 7.
ODU will remain at home for a noon kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 14 against Lake Erie, which will also be Veterans Appreciation Day.
The Panthers will hit the road the following two weeks, taking on Alderson Broaddus for the first time in program history on Saturday, Oct. 21 before a trip to Canton to take on Walsh on Saturday, Oct. 28.
ODU concludes the regular season with a pair of home games, playing host to Kentucky Wesleyan for the first time in program history at noon on Saturday, Nov. 4 before a contest against Findlay at noon on Saturday, Nov. 11.
