Football Earns Votes in AFCA Division II Coaches’ Poll

COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the first time since joining the Division II ranks, Ohio Dominican's football team has earned votes in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 poll, garnering six votes in the preseason poll.

Entering just their fourth year as a Division II institution and tenth season sponsoring football, the Panthers are looking to build from an 8-3 season in 2012 in which they finished tied for second in the GLIAC.

The last time the Panthers were ranked came in the final NAIA poll of the 2009 season, when they were voted No. 24.

Ohio Dominican kicks off the 2013 season at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5 at Georgetown (Ky.). The Tigers are ranked No. 8 in the NAIA preseason poll.
