COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshman running back Brandon Schoen (Olentangy, Ohio) scored all three touchdowns to lead the Gold team to a 21-0 victory over the Black team in Ohio Dominican's annual spring football game.
Schoen scored on runs of 80 yards and one yard and also caught a 19-yard pass from sophomore Mark Miller (Cincinnati, Ohio) to account for the game's three scores. He finished with 109 yards rushing.
Miller threw for 149 yards, setting up Schoen's first touchdown with a 45-yard pass to sophomore Casey Williams (Nashport, Ohio).
Junior Ronnel Spates (Cleveland, Ohio) ran for 72 yards for the Black team and sophomore Nick McKnight (Middletown, Ohio) had a game-high six catches.
Defensively, freshman Brad McCurdy (Columbus, Ohio) picked off two passes and freshman Di'Andre Harrison (Columbus, Ohio) was credited with two sacks for the Gold team, while Sydney Omameh (Westerville, Ohio) had 3.5 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks for the Black squad.
Ohio Dominican kicks off the 2013 season on Thursday, Sept. 5 at Georgetown (Ky.) University.
