Matt Madrid begins his third season on the Ohio Dominican baseball staff as a volunteer assistant coach. Madrid, a former Horizon League Player of the Week at Cleveland State University, brings playing and coaching experience to an already solid coaching staff at ODU.

After earning two letters at Boardman High School in both football and basketball, Madrid brought his playing experience to Cleveland State University. The Youngstown, Ohio native became a two-year letterwinner for the Vikings in his junior and senior year. He graduated in 2008 with a degree in Communications.

Madrid's coaching career began in 2008 as an assistant coach for the Astro Falcons of the Youngstown Class "B" League.

Madrid currently resides in Columbus.
