#23 Baseball Drops Two To Northwood

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's baseball team suffered a sweep to Northwood on Saturday, falling by scores of 7-5 and 17-4 at VA Memorial Stadium.

In the opener, senior Noah Bland (Oberlin, Ohio), sophomore Tim Zeller (Mount Vernon, Ohio) and freshman Manny Vorhees (Wapakoneta, Ohio) each homered, and Bland and Vorhees also had other RBI hits, but the Panthers could not overcome two big innings by Northwood.

The Timberwolves scored three times in the first frame to jump out to a quick lead, and after ODU tied it in the fourth, NU added four more runs in the fifth to pull away.

Vorhees and Bland each had two hits to lead ODU.

In game two, Northwood scored twice in the first inning, then put the game away with a nine-run third inning.

Zeller and junior Joey Machuga (Canfield, Ohio) each had two hits for ODU, with Zeller driving in two runs.

Ohio Dominican returns to action on Friday as the Panthers play Mercyhurst at noon in Wilson, North Carolina.
