First Pitch For Baseball Season Slated For Thursday Against Urbana

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's baseball team will begin the 2019 season with a doubleheader against Urbana at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 at Mason's Prasco Park.

The Panthers will look to pick up where they left off in 2018 when the team finished 36-17 and reached the championship round of the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament. ODU was projected to win the G-MAC title this spring after claiming the regular season title a year ago.

ODU has won three of four meetings with Urbana dating back to the 2010 season. They most recently matched up on March 4, 2017, a 15-11 victory for ODU at Panther Valley.

The Panthers return six everyday starters as well as eight pitchers who saw action during last year's campaign. All-conference returners include senior Colin Kaucher (Toledo, Ohio), junior Joey Machuga (Canfield, Ohio), senior Noah Bland (Oberlin, Ohio) and senior Brad Hull (Gahanna, Ohio). Kaucher and Machuga each picked up first team honors, Bland was on the second team and Hull garnered honorable mention accolades.

ODU has two starting pitchers back in seniors Mitchell Bault (Maineville, Ohio) and Garret Sendelbach (Tiffin, Ohio), while sophomore Tim Zeller (Mount Vernon, Ohio) headlines the relief corps.
