#15 Baseball Drops Finale At Lake Erie

EASTLAKE, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's baseball team couldn't finish off a three-game sweep of Lake Erie as the No. 15 Panthers fell 11-6 in the series finale Wednesday at Classic Park.

ODU was outhit 12-10 in the contest and could not overcome four errors defensively.

Senior Justin Childers (Pickerington, Ohio) continued to stay hot at the plate, finishing 3-for-6 with two RBIs. Junior Genesis Hillard (Cincinnati, Ohio) went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and senior Cody Paterniti (Chardon, Ohio) had two hits, while junior Colin Kaucher (Toledo, Ohio) went 1-for-3 with three walks.

Sophomore Joey Machuga (Canfield, Ohio) had an RBI grounder in the first inning to give ODU a lead, but Lake Erie (12-13-1, 10-5 G-MAC) scored 10 unanswered runs and ultimately led 11-2 after six innings.

Childers had a two-run single and Kaucher had an RBI single in the eighth, and sophomore Bernee Sanchez (Grove City, Ohio) had an RBI single in the ninth to account for ODU's final runs.

Ohio Dominican (22-6, 11-2 G-MAC) remains on the road for a three-game series with Malone, starting with an 11 a.m. doubleheader Friday at Thurman Munson Stadium in Canton.
