BAY CITY, Mich. – Sophomore Colin Kaucher (Toledo, Ohio) was honored as the GLIAC Baseball Player of the Week for his efforts in Ohio Dominican's sweep of West Liberty over the weekend.
Kaucher went 6-for-12 at the dish with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs. He also scored four runs, hit a sacrifice fly, and stole a base as the Panthers outscored West Liberty, ranked No. 10 in the Atlantic Region, 30-13 in the three game series.
In the opener, a 14-2 Panther victory on Saturday, Kaucher went 4-for-5 with a homer, five RBIs, two doubles and two runs scored. He set career highs in hits and RBIs in that contest.
Kaucher registered a hit and a run scored in each of the final two games of the series on Sunday, which resulted in 9-5 and 7-6 victories for ODU.
He currently ranks third in the conference in RBIs (six) while ranking fifth in batting average (.500) and slugging (.917).
Ohio Dominican plays host to Mercyhurst at 3 p.m. Friday in Panther Valley.
