Panthers Picked Sixth in Preseason Baseball Poll

BAY CITY, Mich. – Ohio Dominican's baseball team was picked to finish sixth in the 2013 GLIAC Coaches' Preseason Baseball Poll, announced today by the conference office.

The Panthers picked up 73 points, just two behind fifth-place Lake Erie. Last season, ODU finished in seventh place in the conference with a 16-18 GLIAC record.

Grand Valley was projected to win the conference with 117 points and seven first place votes, followed by Wayne State with 104 points and four first place votes and Ashland with 97 points and one first place tally. Saginaw Valley was picked fourth with 88 points.

The GLIAC baseball slate expands to 12 teams as Walsh and Malone have joined the conference this season.

Ohio Dominican began the season last weekend, going 2-1 in three games in Tennessee. The Panthers return to the diamond on Saturday, March 2 when they take on Gannon in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.
