On Saturday, sophomore Cody Culbertson (Galloway, Ohio) and senior Justin Bell (Columbus, Ohio) helped guide the Ohio Dominican football team to a 57-14 victory over No. 9 Grand Valley, and was named Athletes of the Week for their efforts.
Culbertson tallied nine tackles, six solo, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and a sack while limiting the GVSU offense to 23 points below its season scoring average and 173 yards below its total offense average. The one tackle for loss came in end zone for safety to give Panthers a 33-14 lead at halftime.
Bell returned a punt 91 yards for a touchdown to give ODU a 10-0 first quarter lead in the Panthers’ 57-14 win over No. 9 Grand Valley State University on Saturday. It was the first punt return for a touchdown in school history. Bell also had a 42-yard punt return and averaged 31.8 yards per return on the day. He tied for team lead with seven tackles as well. Bell currently leads the GLIAC in punt returns averaging 18.4 yards per return.
